When making travel plans, I think it’s always better to stay somewhere that has been recommended. I only have a few choice recommended accommodations in Italy. I feel comfortable making these recommendations, because I know the owners personally. (These are not sponsored and I receive no compensation from them). These are my heartfelt recommendations for the best accommodation experiences in Italy.

EXCLUSIVE TUSCANY

For the special traveler seeking luxury accommodations for their families or groups in a countryside villa, Exclusive Tuscany, a private collection of exceptional luxury villas across Tuscany, is my recommendation. These impressive villas are personally curated and vetted by a British couple who fell in love with Tuscany. Onur Aslan and Smaranda Filoti are passionate travel experts who know every property, every owner, and every hidden trattoria worth visiting. Run from London by its founders, Exclusive Tuscany was made small on purpose.

For special occasions like a wedding, an anniversary, a milestone birthday, a multi-generational family celebration, or a corporate retreat, this outstanding selection of private villas has been chosen for exceptional character, comfort, and location across the region.

I have come to know Onur and Smaranda, and they promise personal attention with exceptional passion and an emphasis on authentic experience packs, something you cannot find from a hotel or large company.

Their dream began with a simple belief ~ The best holidays come from local knowledge and personal attention. They remain proudly independent, a small team of passionate travel experts who know every property, every owner, and every hidden trattoria worth visiting.

Biennale Apartments Venice

My friend Marco from Eredi Jovon Cameos in Venice offers a beautiful apartment in Venice that I highly recommend for the location and the price. Have a look….

Located in an antique building in a romantic neighborhood of Venice, the San Piero Apartment was completely renovated in 2015 and includes all modern comforts and conveniences. This is a two bedroom apartment, with a large dining room, a living room, kitchen with all new appliances and a completely modern bathroom. The amenities in this Venice apartment include Ultra Fast WiFi and a flat-screen television.

I just reached out to you on LinkedIn. I live in Greenville SC, where our sister city is Bergamo (textile roots in common). We have a local bookstore (M Judson’s)- do you ever do events or book readings in other cities?
Look forward to hearing from you- Mimi Jenko

      Thank you, Mimi
I have been to Bergamo and it’s a very interesting city. I’m honored and actually was a guest author at an Italian Cultural Society event in Naples, Florida, but I would only consider events that are a couple of hours away by car. Your bookstore sounds lovely.

I'm always interested in your thoughts, so please leave a comment.
