Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, is best known for balsamic vinegar and Italian luxury sports cars. Modena is also the birthplace of the legendary race car driver, Enzo Ferrari. He became even more famous for building the Ferrari sports car, a brand celebrated the world over as the elite luxury automobile manufacturer. Enzo Ferrari is the one who said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”
I enjoy watching Formula 1 racing, and have always wanted to visit the Ferrari Museum, so I added Modena to my Italy itinerary last year.
This is one of two Ferrari museums; the other is in Maranello. For the lover of classic cars who wants to see where it all began, the Enzo Ferrari Museum in the city of Modena is the best choice.
It is built around the original workshop of Alfredo, Enzo Ferrari’s father. Visitors can also view an older section, which is Enzo’s original office. To experience this is in person is nostalgic.
At the museum in Modena, a huge, modern domed building is filled with with many classic Ferraris in an aesthetically pleasing setting.
Visitors can walk around at their leisure to see the cars up close and learn about the years they were built and the engine specifications.
Wandering around here where so much history took place and continues today was a highlight for me!

A video plays on a loop celebrating Enzo Ferrari’s life, so the entire experience is not only interesting but educational as well.
Whether you are a car enthusiast or simply curious about the life of Enzo Ferrari and his brand, a visit to the Enzo Ferrari Museum is a must! Only an eight-minute walk from the Modena train station, it’s easy to access. I’m so happy I had the opportunity to experience this unique attraction.
“We can not describe passion, we can only live it.”
– Enzo Ferrari
If you are more interested in seeing the racetrack or touring the Ferrari factory by bus (closeup tours only available to Ferrari owners) or viewing all the trophies won by Ferrari drivers at Formula 1 races, then Maranello is the place to go. Of course, if you really are an avid Ferrari enthusiast and have the time, you could always go to both museums.
Grazie for all your support. Ciao for now.

Ciao Margie,
Although I do not always comment, I enjoy every one of your posts. Our buying trip to Italy in January was a quick but painful one for me. While exiting the shuttle bus from Malpensa to Milano Centrale, I suffered a partial tear of my left arm rotator cuff. I saw stars! For the next 8 days of our trip, the only thing that helped with the pain was the second bottle of vino!
Un abbraccio from Cleveland’s Little Italy

Oh Peter, I am so sorry to hear of your accident in Italy! I hope you are recovering! Thank God for the Italian vino! Get well soon, my friend!
