By geography and topography alone, most Amalfi Coast towns are built into hills and cliffs. This fact necessitates narrow winding roads cut out of the rock and, in some instances, steep staircases to navigate through the towns. Positano definitely fits that bill, and I’m in love with it. John Steinbeck described it best:
“Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.”
