My newest book is about Venice, and it’s currently in the editing phase.
Despite the fairy-tale-like scenes in Venice portrayed in Hollywood movies, and the romantic photos posted on Instagram, Venice is much more than just another beautiful Italian city and open-air museum for travelers. Venice is a real place where everyday people live and work. On most days (pre-COVID) the center of Venice receives more visitors than its entire population. And although the shop owners and tour guides and restauranteurs greet each vacationer with a smile, life is a challenge, and often not an easy one.
This book is a little different, in terms of presenting a more realistic perspective and focusing on issues of the day. Don’t worry though, as the pages are filled with plenty of my personal stories and experiences.
Scheduled for an early January launch date, The Venice I Know will be available in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook formats. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
I love feedback, so please feel free to share your thoughts.

Congratulations, Margie! I still remember meeting you in Venice and having aperitivo at Hotel Luna like it was yesterday. Memories I cherish to this day…

Oh yes, Susan. Those memories are embedded in my mind, and it does seem like yesterday. I always think about the day I can return, as I’m sure you do as well.
