Lake Como seems magical to me, and this scene in the small village of Varenna needs no words.
Have you traveled to Varenna on Lake Como?

Ciao and grazie
As you probably know, I’ve spent lovely times one island over, on Lago Maggiore, and has the character Caterina in the story that I use to teach Italian. But, not wanting to miss the more famous (and more pricey) Lago Como, I’ve taken day trips there from Lago Maggiore. I’ve always wanted to stay at the Villa d’Este, so one day my family and I went there for lunch in the beautiful outdoor restaurant. I still have the photo and the fond memories of this treasure of a place.
My favorite place! I have been to Lake Como, but we did not visit Varenna. I can’t wait to return one day.
Keep the dream alive, Lucy. Better days are ahead
You know, I think I can feel the salty spray on my face. This is a wonderful picture. Thank you.
Ciao! We have posted your page on our FB page (https://www.facebook.com/mioamoreitaliano) and Twitter (@amore_Italiano) – love Lago di Como!!!!!! Sandra
Grazie mille! An honor
Grazie mille, Sandra
Been to Varenna many times. It’s my favorite place on Lago di Como. Quite a few times stayed at Eremo Gaudio. It is now closed. Not sure why. Quite a magnificent place.
Thank you Ronald. That’s where I stayed. So beautiful….too bad it’s closed. I love the serenity of Varenna.
