This photo of the day can be anywhere in Italy, but it happens to be in Portofino. Seeing laundry hanging in Italy makes me smile, as this is so quintessentially Italian.
I’m sure you’ve seen similar images in almost every town in Italy, haven’t you? What are some of your favorite memories?
I’d love to hear your feedback. Please leave a comment.
Grazie and Ciao

I have quite a few paintings and prints titled’Biancheria’ or ‘il Bucato’. One of my favourite themes to sketch and photograph especially when shadows dance on the stone walls. I like this shot you took from below. Ciao, Cristina

The first thing that came to mind was that Italy must not have HOAs! I remember when there was a protocol to hanging wash. First and last line had sheets and towels. Inside held “delicates.” And if you owed a “dryer,” you kept it to yourself you lazy women you! Hahaha, times change but laundry never does. And I personally think this Italian lady must have a wonderful recipe for getting whites whiter than new snow.
