What a wonderful picture of St Peter’s Square here. I have just returned from my 7th Roman adventure this week and there is *still* so much that I want to see, including attempting one of those great keyhole pictures like yours above. I love some of the quieter sites like Villa Medici and the Palazzo Massimo alle Terme (we practically had both to ourselves). MAXXI and Cinecitta have also been highlights of recent trips. It is also great just to meander round the city, and November was definitely a perfect time to eplore and stumble unexpectedly on sights such as Tiber Island.

I once made the mistake of buying a bottle of water from one of those street vendors. I needed medical attention to get over the shock of the price.
I like Rome but I am getting frustrated with cities that are too busy. Low cost flights deliver so many people!

I was in Roma last weekend. I go to Roma every year and I just love it. As they say ‘una vita non basta’-there is so much to see that one lifetime is not enough. I was shocked at how crowded it was at the end of November! Looking forward to my next visit. Ciao, Cristina

How exciting, Cristina! I guess Rome is always crowded no matter the season.

Thank you Debra..And it’s time for me to return to the Pantheon too…

Yes, Rome is indeed the Eternal City. I was in Rome just a month ago. Like you, I find something new each time I visit. I always want to return to my favorite places as well. Some of my favorites are: Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori, the Vatican, St. Peter’s Basilica, Borghese Gardens and Museum. A new place I visited this trip was the church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Another beautiful church. Also new to me this trip were the Capitoline Museums. How could I have not seen them before? So many lovely ancient places. There is a feeling in Rome that one does not get anywhere else, to tread on the same paths as the ancient Romans…(well, almost.) but to walk in the same places as they did is a special, heart-grabbing feeling.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Dolly. I love that church of Santa Maria Maggiore too! Always more to see. I’ll be back there in the spring.

I'm always interested in your thoughts, so please leave a comment.
