I want to take this opportunity to say grazie mille from the bottom of my heart. Thank you all for being such loyal supporters of my blog. If you have visited lately, then you already know that it has changed some, and one of the main changes is the name. Instead of margieinitaly, all one word, now it’s Margie in Italy. It’s more easily found by someone doing a Google search for Italy travel blogs.
As you know, I’ve published three books on Italy,
Memoirs of a Solo Traveler – My Love Affair with Italy
My Love Affair with Sicily
Colors of Naples and the Amalfi Coast
Thanks to you, they consistently rank high in their categories on Amazon. Grazie a tutti.
Some of you have been wondering when my next book is coming out. You may even recall that I spent two weeks in Positano last fall to finish writing it. Since then, I’ve been busy with the editing and revision process, which seems to take more time sometimes than the actual writing of the first draft. I’m very happy to announce that the final edits have been completed and I’ve submitted it to my publisher for formatting and publication. So it won’t be too much longer now.
What you may not realize is that I’ve taken a departure from writing about Italy with this upcoming book. I’ve written my first novel, titled Critical Cover-Up, a work of fiction in the psychological thriller genre. The setting is inside a Florida hospital and the main character is Allison Jamison, a critical care nurse. My background as a career critical nurse was the impetus for writing the story.
Here is a synopsis:
Allison Jamison abandoned a lucrative real estate career to become a nurse and be able to impact others’ lives during their most vulnerable times. When she accepts a job in a critical care unit at a prominent Florida hospital, corruptive practices threaten to shatter her illusions. An element of evil lurks just beneath the surface and around corners in a place typically known for saving lives.
The murder of a popular surgeon, a fatal mistake in a critical care unit, and anonymous threats challenge Allison’s idealistic ambitions. She finds herself caught up in a healthcare system that prioritizes profit over ethics and patient safety.
Stifled by hospital politics, she must find a way to expose the wrongdoers, even if it means risking her job and maybe even her life.
I certainly understand that some of you may not be as interested in this genre, since it’s a departure from my other books and blog about travel and Italy. I’ve also heard from many of you though, that you are curious and have expressed interest.
Critical Cover-Up will be available on Amazon and Amazon UK in both paperback and ebook editions, hopefully within the next two weeks. But you can DOWNLOAD the FIRST 3 CHAPTERS FREE NOW by visiting my web page, criticalcoverup.com.
I’ll look forward to your feedback, so please leave a comment.
Thank you so much.
