Siracusa is an amazing city with rich history. Here are a few photos from my one-day to this southern Italian city. Enjoy.

Beautiful, Margie! This is a city I haven’t visited. I love the amphitheater – they always seem so special to me.

Amazing photos. Siracusa was the home of Archimides by the way.

You are so correct. Lots of history in that once-Greek city

I am planning on spending a month in Italy later this year and Sicily is on the list. Any special tips or favorite places in Sicily I must do?

A month in Sicily will be wonderful to explore the cities and little towns and countrysides. I would say make sure to visit Taormina, Cefalu`, Palermo, Siracusa…Drive to the small villages up in the hills and explore. You need a car in Sicily since the trains do not go everywhere. Even though I know Italian, some of the older Italians in the small villages onyl speak the sicilian dialect. Have an arancini in Catania and cannoli in Palermo! Enjoy!!
