Have you visited Pompei? I’d love to hear about your experience. Please leave a comment and even a link to any of your Pompei photos.

Have you visited my Amazon Author page yet? My hardback book on Naples and the Amalfi Coast is a coffee table/photo book which features the peoples, streets, traditions, places, and culture of one of my favorite places in Italy.

Great photos, Margie! Pompeii was on my bucket list for years. I finally made it there in October 2010, almost three years ago to the day. Our visit included a hike up Vesuvius, which was also spectacular. I’ll have to write a blog about it myself one day!

Thank you Jaspa, for commenting. I am glad you also enjoyed Pompeii. Vesuvius must have been an amazing experience..I haven’t done that yet! Will check out your blog!

What did you do? Show up at 5am to beat the crowds? LOL Leave it to a nurse! On the other side of the matter, the material you caught on camera is nothing short of amazing. I love our ties to the past and for you to be where your family goes back so many centuries must be very compelling to the heart and soul.

We did arrive in the morning but after two hours, there were plenty of crowds. I tried to capture the shots without people as best I could. Thank you!

Where are all the tourists? I remember when we were there it was jammed and raining. Looks like you had a great day and less crowded.

I'm always interested in your thoughts, so please leave a comment.
