My brother Rick says thank you to everyone who has sent him get well wishes and he reports that he is walking three miles at a time now. You know he is gearing up to put me through the paces in September. I’d better get moving and get in shape here sooner than later!
I have been writing lately, working on my novel, a medical thriller, so for this post I am going to make it a photo collage of some of the small villages and towns that I visited in Italy. Enjoy!

To me, an interesting side light is the fact that in my other reading I can recognize sites from your pictures. Additionally your book put a lot of my other reading into perspective. I’d like to make a comment on the picture in Cesaro of the stairs and door. I remember a door very like that on an old ice box (not a fridge, an ice box) that was actually in use for game and such in the old family home in Sanford until at least the late 60’s. I think somebody took it off an old fridge and got some more use out of it. I think that is terrific. Waste not, want not is a good reminder for everyone. After all, plane fare to Italy is not getting cheaper.
