Book Promotions and Events

Great news today! Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive about “Memoirs of Solo Traveler – My Love Affair with Italy.” Today on Amazon the eBook hit #5 for the first time in the Bestseller List for books on solo travel. The numbers are updated hourly but it is exciting nevertheless!

I have been spending time the past month learning how to promote my book and am in the process of taking a marketing course online specifically for authors. The best-selling author Melissa Foster has proven to be an expert in helping authors learn about the promotional and marketing aspects of book publication through her company, Fostering Success.

It has been very helpful and as a result I have increased my presence on Twitter quite a bit. And as a result of that I have been connecting with quite a few other writers and travelers. One is @Travel Optimist, aka Kelly Johnson.

Imagine my surprise when I saw that my book was featured on The Solo Travel Daily. Thank you Kelly Johnson for this!

The other exciting thing happening in the realm of book promotions is occurring tomorrow. My Italian teacher, Lori Samarin, who was so instrumental in my being able to communicate while I was in Italy, is hosting a “Meet the Author” event for Leonardo’s Italian Book Club which she moderates. It will be the first event in which I will be talking about my book, reading a chapter, having a trivia contest about Italy, and doing a book signing. I am excited and will let you know how it goes later.

My book, “Memoirs of a Solo Traveler – My Love Affair with Italy” is now available at Amazon as a Kindle eBook as well as a paperback, and also at Barnes and Noble online as a paperback and also an eBook for the Nook.

    My trip thru beautiful Italy with you brought to mind the wonderful times my husband Stefano (born in Torre Faro near Messina in Sicily) and I spent touring Italy. I too am in love with this heavenly place. The Italian people know how to truly enjoy life. Again, you did an awesome job. Thank you so much.

    No one deserves the accolades more than you Margie. Imagine, a terrific Critical Care Nurse and an Amazing Author as well. And did you know she was also a Psychologist? Yes, Margie wears many hats and does it all well. And I am pretty sure it is not just 70 year old men chasing her around Italy! Bonnie D.

      As much as I appreciate the kudos here from imarancher, I feel compelled to correct something. I am not a psychologist, but I did sleep at Holiday Inn express last night!

        {Not a Psychologist? No wonder she never sent me a bill! And really a night at a Holiday Inn must count as an internship in insanity.}
