As you may or may not know I am a contributing writer for the Italian-American newspaper, La Gazzetta Italiana, which is based out of Cleveland, my home town. My editor, Gabriella Mileti recently gave me the opportunity to write an article for the October issue about my three month solo travel adventure in Italy and the resulting publication of my first book, “Memoirs of a Solo Traveler – My Love Affair with Italy.”

Wonderful article, Margie. I didn’t know you were from Cleveland. We are about half an hour south of the Akron-Canton area. You were so brave to go back to Italy by yourself. I admire how you immersed yourself in the language, and I can’t imagine how emotional it must have been to visit the city where your grandparents were born.
