Writing, Photo Books, Art Museums and Trip Plans

Well it’s been awhile since I posted here and for good reason. Besides work and planning my trip to Italy I have been busy writing my book and  have finally started putting together the first of three photos books from my three months in Italy almost a year ago now.

While working on the photo books I came across a few photos that I almost forgot I had taken. Enjoy.

Grape vines near Udine
Prosciutto curing in Tuscany
Aerial view of the Alps and the Lakes region of Italy

Saturday I went to the Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale with some of the members from Leonardo’s Italian Club. The Uffizi Gallery from Florence has loaned some Renaissance paintings and a tapestry to a few museums in the U.S, and the one in Fort Lauderdale is the first to have it.

The exhibit was awesome and only makes me want to get back to Italy all the more. Two of the works had recently been restored and it was interesting to be able to see them close up as well as read about the process.

In less than six weeks I will be on a plane to Rome and I am really getting excited now that the date is approaching. The cruise ship sounds awesome and the entertainment on board is very cool.

Blue Man Group is performing and also a special dinner theater performance of Cirque Dreams. This ship is the only ship with an Ice Bar, a 17 degree cocktail lounge. It’s a popular and unique way to enjoy cocktails in Scandinavia. I definitely have to check it out and will report back from the trip.

A year? It’s been a year? Wow, I wonder how it can be that long ago although of course is has been. I guess you have kept it alive for me with your photo digests and commentary. Great stuff Margie.

I'm always interested in your thoughts, so please leave a comment.
