At 11:15 I boarded my last train in Italy. It left San Remo and 3 and a half hours later I was in Milano, where I will spend the night before flying home tomorrow. As excited as I was to begin this journey three months ago, I am equally excited to be returning home.

To borrow Dorothy’s words from The Wizard of Oz, “there’s no place like home,” and I am looking forward to being there tomorrow night.

I plan to continue my blog, as I have plenty more to write about in more detail from the more than fifty towns I have visited these past 12 weeks. I may not post quite as often, but I will be writing, you can be sure.

For now, arrivederci, salute, ciao till later.

    Oh Margie,
I somehow thought you would have stayed there at least one more week. I want to compliment you on your sense of adventure, your courage in traveling throughout Italy on your own, not knowing many places, your enthusiasm, passion and organizational skills. Your blog has been and will continue to be a great adventure shared with those who know you and care about you and those of course who have been inspired by your travels.

I guess as I write this you must be on that jet plane bound for Florida. We will have to coordinate a LEONARDO Italian Club meetup in a couple of months (after you and other members will have retuned, be settled in and ready to share) where particpants can discuss their Italian holiday this year and maybe do a show and tell. Buon ritorno Margie..

  2. Can hardly believe the time to leave has come. What an adventure, but so nice to be able to sleep in your own bed. Thanks for all the posts. Made me feel like I was there with you.

  3. The porch light is on and so is the coffee, we’ll be waiting up to hear that you landed safe and sound. WELCOME HOME!!!!!

  4. I feel sad you now have to go home….I was travelling with you as it’s been a lifetime since I was in Italy (my teen years). Will continue to follow your more detailed adventure notes once you return. ^_^

  5. How wonderfully incredible these months “with you” have been!
    Welcome Home, Margie!
