Sicilia and more

Along the Amalfi Coast, Italy
Along the Amalfi Coast

I know it has been awhile since I posted on this blog, but it’s not for lack of staying busy. I have finalized an itinerary and made reservations for Sicilia, and I am anticipating an exciting time traveling throughout the island of my maternal grandparents.

We will have a car and be visiting the cities of Catania, Messina, Palermo and Siracusa, although not necessarily in that order. We also will have time to explore some of  the smaller towns and villages, like Cefalu, Corleone, Taormina, and of course Cesaro, the mountainous village in which my grandparents were born. I know it will be an experience I will never forget.

After going back and forth in my mind many, many times, I decided that I am going to return to the Amalfi Coast,  after all. It is simply one of the most stunningly beautiful places I have ever seen. I managed to plan an itinerary, which does not involve Napoli, by taking a train to Salerno.

Salerno is at the opposite end of the Amalfi Coast from Napoli, and is a great location, due to its transportation availability. The Sita buses stops there, for a very low cost, I will be able to take these buses all along the Amalfi Coast, as they make stops in each town. It is even more ideal because it is the perfect way to experience the breathtaking views of this beautiful coastline without the stress of driving it myself.

You can surely expect that I will be posting lots of photos from that location. I can hardly believe that in less than a month I will be in Italia!

Your prose is lovely, I feel like I am there.

  2. I really enjoyed the Amalfi coast but I am not sure I would want to drive it for myself. I would need to concentrate so hard I would miss the scenery!

I'd love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment.
