Telefonata – Italian Language Practice

I just completed a 15 minute phone call in Italian with my Italian teacher. This has become part of my weekly  class,  to have two 15 minute calls every week, in Italian. The thought of it was intimidating at first, as I found myself wondering how I would be able to keep a conversation going in Italian for that long, but it gets easier, and although I still make plenty of mistakes, I can follow fairly well, and communicate my ideas better than I used to.  It really is a good way to practice the language, as I think being able to speak it is the hardest. I actually find that as I have to challenge myself, I am accomplishing more. I am sure that I am not the first person to come to this conclusion.
